Breaking records on Domino Day

Domino Day has proved to be a very exciting event for fans of playing with dominos everywhere. People come from far and wide to see if the new record attempt will succeed, or even to take part. There is something so satisfying about creating a huge line of dominos and successfully toppling all of them in the desired way. This is what makes this world record-breaking attempt so enjoyable for everyone involved. The sheer scale of the domino design that the participants are able to achieve is very impressive and a joy to watch if all goes according to plan.

Perhaps one of the things that has made this event so popular in the past is that dominos are played with all over the world. Young children love to play with them on the floor while their parents are doing other things like housework or playing Partypoker. They can be as creative as they want with their designs, developing their imagination and learning to do things in a calm way. Of course, it is not only children that love to play with these little oblong blocks. Adults have made it into an art form, partly thanks to the success of Domino Day.

The Domino Day that took place in 2007 was the only one where only 81.6% of dominos fell and Domino Day failed to set a new record. The rest of the years have been very successful, with as many as 4,491,863 dominos being toppled in 2009, breaking the previous record. Domino Day of 2008 marked the tenth anniversary of the annual event. During this day, the aim was to break more records than ever before and although the Builder Challenge failed, an impressive nine other world records were successfully broken.
